ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF

Received my brand new pair of Atticus last week (stock camphor) and at first listen I was a bit underwhelmed. So tight and constricted.....but after running them (prolly over 150 hours now) on the Gilmore, they have REALLY opened up......a LOT. Very enjoyable.
Best part was that because they were still in the production process, they came included with the new crescent strap. That's a real game changer for me....very much appreciated.

Running some different tubes in my Pendant right now.....found some nice matches for the new phones.

Having owned an Atticus in the past, and having just received my eikon on Monday I wasn’t sure what my impression would be. I must say, I think I’m just a lover of the biocellulose driver. I personally much prefer the eikon to the Atticus. I’m sure many would disagree and that is awesome, just what this hobby is about. To me it is very similar to my auteur with additional reverb and more bass impact.
Honestly I havent heard the atticus, but I will say eikons with EQ are disgusting. They do mids decently well and the headphones are forgiving. The amount of bass combined with the huge plush pillows with the headband being bendable is a wett dream. When I crank my crap up I feel every single little vibration of the songs. It is so fun to listen to. EDM music is a free head massage man. No matter what flagship I own, I will never sell my eikons EVER.

After traveling through the various republics of headphonia, spending time in the dynamic and planar regions accompanied by different amplifier types, it is always gratifying to return to the classic pairing of OTL tube h/p/a and high impedance h/p. In this case, Woo WA2 and ZMF Eikon.E73A5FED-55C4-4363-B966-4DF25F986A74.jpeg
Would you mind telling me what amp that is? It definitely is catching my eye.

The Woo Audio WA2. Output transformer-less: (ZMF Eikon nominal impedance is 300 ohms).

Lol! I read the first sentence and was about to be shocked that you didn't like them, then finished the post :).

Around one year in with my Atticus. Loving it with a Norne Drausk Lite cable and the Pathos Aurium headphone amp with SBooster power supply (surprisingly big upgrade).

What ear pads are the best for Eikon?. I preferred Auteur solid lambskin over Eikon solid lambskin because of neutral. 0217221645.jpg
I’m liking the eikon suede and eikon lambskin about equally at the moment, with the suede currently on them.

A great trio: Atticus, Forza, LTA (Edit: correction)

Hmmm. Difference seems heavier when wearing them though
Eikon ( camphor with newer magnesium chassis)
Atticus (padauk with older chassis)

i just bought a pair of ltd atticus with fancy wood ,i also have aeolus and i find them less fatiguing.
maybe i don't like the ori pads very much, too much space between my ears and the drivers perhaps?. i owned a pair of atticus years ago and i remember them more organic and with sweet mids.
which pads could i choose in order to get that sound?
thx
