I did some pad rolling on my Atticus and wanted to share the results.

I found my Atticus bass to be a bit overwhelming; it bled into the mids and kept giving me an earache after about an hour or so of listening.

I bought a pair of angled 105mm fenistrated sheepskin pads off of aliexpress. They were about $23 with tax.

I found them to be indistinguishable in looks and quality from the stock pads, except that the inside seams of the stock pads are sown, and these are pressed (see the pics). I don't know how that might affect longevity, but I would think sown is better theoretically.

I usually stay away from fenistrated pads, since they kill the bass. But in this case, they tamed the bass perfectly. In fact, the Atticus now is perfectly neutral (much how I imagine the Eikon sounds).

Of course since they are Atticus, I don't want ruler-neutral. With some light EQ, they now have the perfect balance of warmth and neutrality. And they have the perfect amount of deep, tight bass with zero sign of bloat.

I don't have suede Ori pads, or other ZMF options to compare, but for barely over $20 I would call these a smashing success.

Has anyone tried a leben integrated like the cs600 or a cary amp like the sli80 with atticus?

Any update on the accessories, besides the pads, that will be included with the headphones? At one point, there had been some talk about the included stock cable possibly being different from the Ori stock cable.

Also, there were two different cases previously listed as being included, Seahorse SE430 and S3 6500. Has one been decided upon?

Has anyone tried the Atticus with either the WA 6 or WA 6 SE? I’ve definitely noticed that ZMFs like tube amps like the high impedance Senns. However, the WA 6 SE sounds rather neutral to me, and I’m wondering if a quality OTL would be a better choice for a less analytical but more fun listening experience.

Where did you order the Marblewood Atticus if you don’t mind me asking? I only see the Camphor wood available on ZMF’s shop website.

You likely won’t ever regret going with the prettier wood .

the Camphor Burl has always been one of my absolute favorites when it comes up on various models. My personal holy grail is one of the early Rustic Cherry wood sets (I know there was Eikon, not sure what else it came on).

Someday I’m going to try and hunt down a Redwood Burl Atrium Closed, Redwood is by far my favorite wood since I live in the PNW.

I listen to my Atticus on a WA 6 from time to time. Its a great sounding combo!
