@egglizhen there are a few sellers on Amazon that are not authorized dealers. Please note if you purchased from an unauthorized dealer, your warranty will be void. If you want to pm me the name of the seller, I can confirm if they are authorized. IRIVER is of course an authorized seller on Amazon. There are a few others.

I get messages that there is a Tidal update available on my SE100. Since I did get the Tidal app as necessary from the the OpenApp site, how do I install the update? I don't want to mess up my current Tidal app...

Our DAPs have a one year warranty from date of purchase. Also, as per our warranty terms, warranty is not transferable to second owners. Warranty only applies to the original purchaser who purchases from an authorized Astell&Kern dealer.

That's damn stupid! What is the reasons behind this? I assume there is a consumer law to prevent this rubbish condition to be enforced in France?

If purchased in Europe, including France, there would be a 2y. warranty !
For a hobby in which people are selling and buying used gears, that makes AK devices purchased directly from AK a risky choice

I have to reconsider this used SE100 purchase.

As a product development engineer I don't get this responsibility avoidance of a company when a company implies "nontransferable warranty", is the company guaranteeing that the product has a minimum quality of at least 1y or warrantying that the first buyer will have a working product for 1y? if first and subsequent users of the product has a similar usage condition and care (that in this case can be easily assessed by inspection when submitted to repair), what is the excuse to not honor the warranty for them?

Because if the product is robust and reliable, as the company is marketing it, it should work properly independent of the owner if operated under certain conditions.

I would really like to hear from the company a clear explanation to opt for this strategy.

The tracks load, but as you as you hit play it comes up with an "unplayable file" error message. Any ideas?
