giphy.gif

I laughed during a group chat while reading that.
Good stuff. that kinda mush is why this thing is 1/2 dead in the water.

1. Price
2. Compare SP1000 and SE 100 both to 380 on official website (lol) watch folks contort their vocabulary to try and justify the $$$$.diff

Priceless comments in here.

Hey, you're being mean...

Sorry.
Love my DAP.

I read comments in flagship IEM threads talking about cables changing entire sound sigs and feel sick, this just cracked me up today. No sarcasm, was genuinely amused. It was a pairing thing that I read as a DAP attribute so my A.D.H.D got the better of me. I hate mean people so it was not my intention. Everybody enjoy in the way ya like. I will read more carefully next time and when in doubt remember happiness is what you like and what you like....is happiness. Not something others need to tell us me included.

All good man. In the midst of this absurd hobby we have to be able to laugh at ourselves...

I really enjoyed the ak jr and I liked the ak70 as well though only listened to the ak70 for a few days. However Ive never liked the daps with sabre chips but they were sub $500. If I dont like sabre chip will I like this dap? I have a warm iem so maybe it would be a good pairing?

it may be true that people perceive sound slightly differently and its certainly true that everyone has different preferences. And therefore some people will prefer the sound of less expensive and less engineered products over more expensive products.
That said, objectively, some DAPs reproduce sound better than others. That's why professional reviewers use equipment and software to test output instead of relying only on their preferences and perceptions. Lower levels of distortion, higher uniformity throughout the frequency range, impedance levels that pair with a broader range of headphones....Some DAPs are absolutely better than others in that regard. They may not fit your particular needs, say for size, weight, UX, format support, pairing with certain headphones you already own, etc. You may need or prefer something else (or want to prefer something else).
For example, aesthetically, I think the SE100 has a great design. I like the offset angles, sharp edges, and its relatively low weight. But I like the heft and solidity of the SP100 even more. That's just my preference. But let's be clear -- sound reproduction can be objectively measured.

Yes, aspects of it, but I does not tell the whole story.

Are you sure it's "CN"? On mine, it's "CM". There should be an update available over WiFi that should take you to 1.02CM.
Depends on where the player was purchased as to "CM" or "CN". Due to recent regulations in a few Asian countries, we were forced to split the firmware depending on your region.

CM
Country : Europe, USA, Japan, Russia, all other countries except for CN firmware
Language : English, Korean, Japanese, Russian, German, French, Spanish
Keyboard: English, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Spanish

CN

Language: English, Korean, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional
Keyboard: English, Korean, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional

@szore Please don't fixate on the last sentence of what I wrote. In the same post and in others I've qualified that statement. Sound measurement is not the only indicator or even the best indicator of the listener's enjoyment. My only point is that it can be measured.

Tidal Offline update still due to hit us next month?
No official announcement on Tidal offline. I know our UK distributor was telling people at CanJam London it was coming in September, but there has not been an official announcement from AK confirming this.
