Ok, I am an idiot... you need to go to settings and enable „Roon Ready“. Then you can find the SP2000 in roon.

You simply have to activate/tick Roon Ready in the settings.

I guess you have to enable the SP2000 as an endpoint in Roon, under settings/audio.

as addition to my previous speaker MatW, I would like to explain:
in Roon's settings go to audio, at SP2000 klick enable as MatW mentioned, type in a name, then klick on the small wheel and in the window that opened klick on save (further settings are not necessary, since Roon had identifiedcted SP2000). In Roon you simply have to choose an audio zone and klick on SP2000.
That's it.

I'm on the boat.
This is very convenient way to enjoy the music . If you have experience to use Roon before, it is transparent to Roon UX language.
1. Go to setting and turn the Roon Ready.
2. Go to Roon Server, Setting -> Device -> Sp2000 automatically discovered on the network ( First time )
3. Setting parameter, by pass the Digital volume
4. Enjoy

Super helpful. I also didn't realize they had to be on the same network.

I have to admit I am tempted to rejoin the club... but then again, I use a DAP when I'm outside my house. Where Roon is not available anyway ... But I'm certainly going to give it some thought... and keep an eye out for SP3k ...
