+1,it is a safety issue. The Sony 1Z’s button volume control is much better for volume control even though the crown volume pot looks prettier on the SP2K.

Also, it would be better to configure the 2.5 and 3.5 output power to the same level of SP1000 + amp on hight gain. or give the possibility to user to choose on SP2000.

Isn't this a hardware limitation and already determined from release? If power level can be adjusted so easily, they would have just done this on sp1000 and do not need to release the amp module.

It has been answered multiple times on this and on the threads. The formula for converting voltage to wattage is:

Wattage =

Vrms X Vrms / impedance, where impedance is your “load” and they varies from phones to phones. Let say the impedance of your iems is 36, then the SP2K will give you:
6 Vrms X 6 Vrms divided by the impedance of your iems which is 36, or 1 watt of driving power.

"I have A&K SP1000 and just received my verite Closed, and.... obviously the VC is underpowered by the SP1000 (volume level is OK, but sound is congested and soundstage colapsed ! . While it sound wonderful out of my desktop tube amp ED445.)

So... I am hesitating between getting the SP1000AMP or "upgrading" to SP2000 to take advantage of the refinement of the SP2000 but... I understood that SP2000 is less powerful than SP1000 + SP1000 AMP. is it correct ?

Will the SP2000 be powerful enough for the Verite Closed ?

I emailed Zach about this and ne said "it (the SP2000) absolutely can drive it fine! The v closed only needs about 80 to 100mW at 300 ohms to sound great so you'll get plenty of volume."
