Is there a way to set a maximum volume cut off/cap? in case i slip my finger while adjusting the volume by screen and blow my ears out with 6vrms. If not this would be a great safety feature.
Also, can i rip CD's to the player using any cd ripper or does it only work with the AK one?
Thanks

@cleg I got to compare them myself, and agree with everything you said. I’m also inclined to upgrade.

+1 on that feature request. That would be great to have! On some IEMs that I've used with the SP2000, setting the volume at 80 is loud.

I'd like this as well, on all Astell & Kern players, setting the volume to 80 on my SP1000M with the 64 Audio A18T is unbearably loud and would cause instant damage to my ears.

@JasonNYC and any update about the Digitally Imported apk? It has been more than 3 months since I requested and you told that it would had been released in September. After this, nothing, and till now, nothing.
Should be in the next firmware update. The last firmware update was held as they are planning on adding the update for the Artists menu that collapses the song lists under each album. Also they are fixing the bug when using the physical buttons on apps where it skips multiple tracks. Once these two items are finalized, they will push out updated firmware. I was told in December, but no specific date yet.

I’ve asked for this too, the accidental swipe nearly cost my ears too. Swipe albums while accidentally rubbing the volume, a frightening combo. I wish I could disable the swipe to adjust volume. With iems it could be hearing loss.

I have A&K SP1000 and just received my verite Closed, and.... obviously the VC is underpowered by the SP1000 (volume level is OK, but sound is congested and soundstage colapsed ! :frowning2: . While it sound wonderful out of my desktop tube amp ED445.)

So... I am hesitating between getting the SP1000AMP or "upgrading" to SP2000 to take advantage of the refinement of the SP2000 but... I understood that SP2000 is less powerful than SP1000 + SP1000 AMP. is it correct ?

Will the SP2000 be powerful enough for the Verite Closed ?

@JasonNYC would suggest to bring back an option on the playlist management ! give us the option to accept or not if we want to add more than 1 time the same song in the the same playlist : i will not give up on this
Also, it would be better to configure the 2.5 and 3.5 output power to the same level of SP1000 + amp on hight gain. or give the possibility to user to choose on SP2000.
Thanks

+1 as well.
Jason NYC, as you can see, this is a very heavily requested feature.
Please, guys, do something about setting a safety volume level on SP2000.
It has happened to me that I accidentally slide my finger and volume went up, which can really cause permanent hearing damage.
