Not surprised to learn this, I didn't enjoy Dave + Utopias when I tried this. I found the Dave very resolving & clear but I felt it lacked punch and was underpowered (for my Utopias).

Dave has more than enough power to drive the Utopias at its best. Imo, Dave + Utopia does not lack punch & impact (with crossfeed 1 in my case) at all, especially with the M-Scaler added. The Utopias are headphones really capable of revealing the true potential of M-Scaler & Dave, at least in case you can hear this setup more or less free of noise.

Dave plus a real amp.

That's the way to add harmonic distortion, if you like.

Mm..yup. have it. Stellia is acceptable to excellent pairing with the Sp2k cu. Love it much more than the Z1R or the HD 820. I love it so much that I will be bringing it to HK with thr) Sp2K cu and compare it with the Denon D9000 (eyeing it for quite sometime now).

Have you used 3.5 to 6.3 adaptor for your iem cable to plug into Dave?

Have an incoming 2.5 mm Lavricable silver for the Stellia.

Its not the connection but the cable length. The Dave is too far away from a seat with any of my IEMs.

Respectfully disagree. It doesnt have the resolution of the Stellia. Not close IMO but it is an enjoyable listen. Also I get hot ears with Stellia but not the Denon.

For my experience ) you can have mid and treble detail.
But the sound stage cannot be driven.

I heard sp2k can make LCD4s sing, but I kind of doubt it.
Utopias with the dave + HMS are very revealing and crazy detailed, if that is your thing, but lacks depth and weight to my ears. I get tired of it easily and certainly not my preferred sq. The Utopias do scale up very nicely with better, reasonably powered amps. The Stellias are easier to drive than utopias and so far a promising pair for the sp2k.

I was thinking of getting custom Empire Ears Legend X IEM for my SP2000 for in-home listening.
Seeing the good synergy with Stelias, I will give them also a try before deciding on Legend X vs Stelias.

For me the stock cable is quite nice.
It is better than T8ie by sound stage as well as mid range and treble control.
The appearance is more attractive too with air vens make the sound is more relax.

If I get the Legend X it's going to be custom.
Don't care about resale value. If I buy it, I will keep it.
