Looks like my "Pre-order" that I made on the US AK website yesterday night got delivered today. I had selected overnight shipping.

Very excited!
Are you sure it was the US website? Just checked our tracking, units for North America are still in transit from Korea to our US warehouse and have not been received by the warehouse yet.

Does anyone know how well do the batteries on these A&K players hold up over long-term ownership usage?

Most Lithium-Ion batteries start really degrading after 2 years.
Would it be possible to send the device to A&K to get the battery changed or has anyone attempted that?
I would not want to pay over $3K to get a device that's usable for only 2 years...
Like any rechargeable battery, it depends on usage, charge cycles and temperature exposure. We just got a 6+ year old AK240 a few weeks ago in for battery replacement that was used almost daily for a number of hours a day. We offer battery replacement service for all of our models for a small fee.

I don't think the battery is that much of a problem. It doesn't make the device 'unusable'.

Hi @JasonNYC, do you know if A&K has any plans to add a Bluetooth receiver function to its DAPs? And is that something could be enabled with a firmware update later?

Thanks...
It was asked at the High End Munich show in May. I spoke to our head hardware person and he said it could be added via firmware update in the future as the hardware was already there. There is currently no plans to add it, but I will pass the feature request on again to our team.

Just curious as to why there is no plans to add that feature?

I find it quite useful on occasion.

Not sure. I will definitely pass the suggestion again.

Thank you! This was a feature that I appreciated in the Sony WM1Z.
Bluetooth does not have the same sq as a lossless streaming service or stored file but it covers all of the remaining content I'd want to stream from my phone. The net effect is that I end up bringing the DAP with me almost everywhere versus only bringing it when I know I will focus on stored files and Tidal, Qobuzz, etc. It means I'm basically married to it. :)

Right now I'm using a Hiby R3 almost entirely for this one feature. I'd much rather use my SP1000M (or future SP2000??) instead.

Ok just wanted to confirm, so you guys can indeed replace the batteries.
That's basically what I was concerned with, but now that doesn't seem to be an issue!

Thanks!
