Have to say that the sound quality from using exFat and now using Fat 32 is huge, much much better.Has me baffled as to why that is.Very noticeable with my HD 800.
The type of formatting of card has nothing to do with sound quality. It is the Kann and the build quality that has made you music sound better. This is what a 1000$ Dap is supposeed to do. Happy listening.

Hi All, i would like to share my experiences on the format issue. If you want trouble free operation down the line (No pop ups informing you of incomatible cards, very long boot up times, etc) then please DO NOT format your cards in the KANN. The Kann formats in exfat which strangely the KANN itself has trouble with. Maybe not right away, but as with me it gave error messages two weeks later.
Fomat the cards in fat32 using a fat32 formatter. I use

Neve had any boot up difficulties or false card error pop ups afterwards.

Hi guys,
I have a new issue however- whenever I start up a shuffle using "songs" mode, the forward button pulls up a message that says "Adding song to now playing playlist" and won't let me skip to the next track. This is generally resolved by playing the first track all the way through- the button then works again as it should.

Wondering if anyone has seen this before. I tried resetting to default settings, but it did not resolve the issue.

Thanks!

More news on this- it seems that every time I listen via "SONGS," pressing the forward button will display this error and not do its intended function. This usually resolves in 5-7 minutes or so. Likely a bug? @JasonNYC - have you heard of this behavior?

This is the first I have heard of this. I will try to duplicate on my KANN and also check with our customer support team and see if they have had any reports of the same issue. Give me a few hours please to check out.

@frankieteardrop what firmware version are you on? You can find it in Settings, System Information. Latest firmware is v1.03.

So far, I have not been able to replicate your issue. While playing back songs on shuffle mode, the forward button switches to the next random track for me. I do not get any of the error messages you are seeing.

I will forward onto our customer support and software development teams for further investigation.

Thanks for inspecting, @JasonNYC - I'm on the latest firmware as well, updated it out of the box. It's worth noting that I am using Sandisk cards- a 256 and a 512gb, both of which have been formatted in the KANN before loading. There aren't any other issues with loading, scanning, or playing, so this is definitely curious. I originally thought maybe it was happening while the media was scanning, but it turns out this happens even once the player has been in use for a while. If I switch to song mode to listen on a shuffle, it does this.

I also have 71,000 songs or so, all scanned into the library.

Thanks for looking into this! Perhaps I can share a video of the behavior, if this would be helpful?

No such issues here. All is working just fine. Must be your song file is corrupted. Does it happen only with one song or all songs

@frankieteardrop you can try and do a manual media scan to reindex all of your songs to rule this option out. With 7,000+ songs, it may take up to 10 minutes.

Settings, Default Settings, Initialize media scan. If you have playlists created, make sure you don't check the "Clear playlists" box.

When the issue first appeared, I did a restore to default settings in case I accidentally changed something in there, and it re-scanned the library from there.
