@JasonNYC, regarding using the MKII Ripper with the Cube -- Is there a way to add meta data for cd's not found on Gracenote? Should I just connect to the computer and change the file name in Android File Transfer? Is there another software I could use? Thanks in advance, Chris
Edit - I tried changing the file names on the computer but it did not take it seems - I am ripping to flac and connecting to a Mac
You can use the USB digital audio out or use the optical out. The 3.5mm jack is a 3.5mm analog/mini toslink digital out. The player will automatically sense if an analog headphone/IEM cable or digital optical cable is plugged in.
Thank you - I will try that - would I have to transfer the songs off the device to do this?
It looks like I have to move the files off of the Cube to use tagging software - that's no fun.
I also am having trouble because Gracenote finds the album and song data but not the artwork. I'm not sure why.
Now it seems I have to remove each album after ripping to add the cover in the tagging software and then transfer back to Cube and delete the original. Lots of steps!
According to the Line Out Output Options menu in Settings, I should be able to select the XLR output voltage from a minimum of 1.4V to a maximum of 4V when Line Out mode is selected. However, I don’t hear any change in volume level out of the XLR connector when I select a different XLR output voltage. I noted that the audible volume level in this case is not fixed, but varies when the KANN Cube volume control knob is adjusted even when Line Out is selected. Is the internal headphone amplifier bypassed when the XLR Output is selected? For what it’s worth, the KC gain is locked at the High setting.
I frequently have to run my sound system preamplifer at close to maximum gain with a high KANN Cube volume control setting in order to get adequate volume out of my sound system when using the XLR Output connection. Am I really getting a 4V maximum output voltage out of the XLR Output connector?
Popping sound: When I hit play on a track on the Cube from standby mode when the screen is dimmed, I get a popping sound a loud thump in the speakers. It happens across all media and whether I am on bluetooth or minixlr out. It does not happen in the cans, Does anyone else have this problem? I thought it was just with one pair of BT speakers but now I added monitors thru the xlr playback and it is still happening.
