Just got mine earlier today - definite improvement over the mk 1 - bluetooth seems better as well with my B+W PX. Can anyone please answer - is there a screen protector already applied on both sides - wasn't certain?

Nope, you need to Apply yourself, its included inside accessories box.

tried mk2 at the astell&kern shop today. i tested the first one for a week.

mk2 seems to have a darker tone compared to mk1. it resembled kann to me. mk1 had slightly thin vocal but looks like mk2 solved that.

although mk2 sounded like it has smaller soundstage than the mk1. or more intimate presentation.

just my two cents.

Although AK players run a customized version of Android, you cannot install apps to the player. There is no Google Play Store access and you cannot sideload apps. Tidal is pre-installed on the players.

For anyone upgrading from the mk1 using Bluetooth I can confirm it is significantly improved in the mk2 with none of the dropouts I previously was experiencing.

No screen protector on mine - just the factory anti-scratch thing which you're supposed to peel off.

maybe the black color of this edition was made to honor the old look of the AK120...
How this player can compare in sound and warmish of this sound to the AK120??

Not too many reviews out there for this, I’ve sacrificed my chord mojo/s8 setup for this as I wanted a cleaner solution for portability. Was considering a mojo/poly setup but it just seemed too awkward a setup. I hope this has the ooomph of the mojo as well as a comparable sound signature

So, how do you like Ak70 mkii vs your previous Mojo combo? Thanks.

OK so I just got my AK70 mkII and i have a question; Is it just me or does it take an age to charge - mine has taken half an hour to add 2%, does this sound like a faulty unit?

EDIT: Just switched wifi and BT off which has helped a lot.
