Hi all, I’m having great trouble transferring files from MacBook macOS Monterey to AK380 via Android file transfer,the way specified in the AK380 manual. What happens is that transferring to internal storage is generally OK but as soon as I try to transfer to the SD Card a sign “cannot access device“ appears and the connection shuts down. If I remove the SD Card and use a card reader then the transfer works but album art and metadata may be scrambled.
I have tried transferring from internal storage-SD Card on the AK itself. That works but takes forever. I’ve tried Macdroid but had more problems with it than AFT. Anybody share these problems?
Any solutions? Meanwhile I’ll look for CommanderOne and see what it does.

I've used Commander One for this - the AK380 can be a little unstable but taking the SD card out and using a card reader works.

Yes, I have a SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC 1 TB and it works perfectly.

So, I've been out of the DAP game since 2016 and my AK320 has been serving me very well ever since. I have been getting the upgrade itch mainly I would like (i) USB-C, (ii) Tidal functionality back, (iii) faster UI and better battery life.

However, it seems like the trend has been towards monster sized DAPs which aren't exactly of interest to me. Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar sized DAP that has improved or equal SQ and checks the boxes? Seems like the SP1000M may fit the bill but I'm not sure if a newer model is coming out.

Astell&Kern can replace the ak380 battery, but I think the amp battery are no longer available. If your in the US, just drop them an email - it’s @ $70.

Your regional AK repair center would be able to replace it. Here in the US it is about $60USD to replace the AK380 battery. Nor sure about the amp battery. The price will vary slightly depending on region.
