Astell&Kern AK380

I felt that the stock was abit too heavy/weighty and dark sounding.
The amp opens it up more and the mids are much smoother and not to heavy/weighty as before. Love how it sounds now. As soneone said before over here. even if youre using the amp on low gain with iems, get the amp, it makes the iems have more'grip' on the sound.

Hmm... To be clear, you are saying that the black 380 by itself is a bit dark? How does that the black 380 compare to the normal Duraluminum 380? Is it tuned differently?

Hello forum,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem before I go to Astell & Kern support team. My dad has recently purchased the copper version of the 380 and he likes it, the only problem that he is having is when he is connecting it to his Apple laptop to transfer music, it takes around 5 minute to load the music using android file transfer.

He does have quite a large amount of songs on it and there is still plenty of storage space left, we did select the option to connect it as a media device and it has the latest version of firmware.

Any help with this issues would be appreciated.

Just curious how much data was transferred in those 5 mins? Doubt it will be any faster using Windows since the AK380 is using USB2.0 and not 3.

As reference I can transfer 2gb from my Mac to a SD card using USB3 less than 2mins

Mmm......WA8 Eclipse + AK 380 cu > AK 380 cu + cu amp. And, yes, it is sublime. It is now my favorite transportable rig for headphones, specially with the HD 800 S and the Fostex TH 900.

Mmmm....sure. The TH 900 is so good with the WA8 that I will be getting the TH 900 MK 2 for its removable cable option, just as soon as I've paid my mountain of credit card debt. Lol!. The 900 with the fixed cable is just too long and unwieldy for on the go.
