The akt8ie sounds almost exactly like the t5p 2nd gen which I just got(t5p has less subbass but more extended treble). Love thst sounding!

Different tuning, but same core components, yes.

The extended treble could be an interesting one to counter (unless extended to some means boosted to others, in which case, quite easy)

Yeah i have to check some raw measurements using the same rig, then my parametric eq will come into play

FYI Tried to buy these recently and UK retailer was told they are no longer being made/sold, did manage to find somewhere else with stock left though. Just a heads up in case they are being discontinued.

Got my pair yesterday and straight out the box they are great. The included tips don't get me a good seal so i put on some spiral dots and the seal is good. Haven't tried the foam tips I'll experiment abit more later.

Wonder how Sony hybrids would go actually.

By which you mean the Sony hybrid. It comes after two, and before 4...that's it! the N3. And it goes very nicely. Can't comment on the AK, only briefly heard their Dap's which were very impressive with my H3, and cured a lot of the sibilance that in ear was prone to.

Spiral dots aren't bad but I'm finding the sub bass a lil much the more I test. Any other tip recommendations for good bass but not overbearing bass while keeping the other frequencies intact?

Btw I had shiver up the spine moment on the queen of all everything - Skylon. These are truly great iems.

Yeah the spiral dots are just not my preferred tip with the t8ie.

The stock oval tips sound the best but just don't seal for me. Its abit annoying actually.

The complys are the inbetween but still not my preferred.
