I was just reading through the owners manual online and noticed that the device only charges through a usb connection. So if using a wall socket to charge, will it damage the battery if always plugged in? I had hoped to use it in a fixed desktop position and I'm sure I'll forget to unplug.
The CA1000 stop charging the battery once fully charged, even if you leave it plugged in , so no Problem .
I use a 9Volt 3Ampere Adapter . The charging goes much faster than with 5Volt 2Ampere .

This was discussed a few pages back in post # 211 in this thread.

All of AK's DAPs and the CA1000 stop charging the battery once fully charged, even if you leave it plugged in. No need to worry about keeping any of them plugged in all the time. No effect to battery if you leave plugged in.

Not a problem. there is intelligent charging built in.

OK, one more question. I've been searching this thread and elsewhere online trying to find comparisons of the sound signature for the CA1000 vs SP2000T. I tend to lean toward a warmer sound (I have tube amps, McIntosh receiver and headphone amp) so now wondering if the SP2000T might be a better fit for me... So is it in fact a warmer, less analytical sound vs the CA1000? Thanks!

Looks nice, but without even nicer. I don’t know the purpose to cover it like this. If you want it for transport, it makes no sense because the display is not protected.
Purpose is for people who want a case and still want to see the screen.

Yes, but it‘s more aesthetic than functional.
Some people like aesthetics. It’s just there for people who would want it. Most about this hobby is aesthetics.

Sure, no offense’s. But to me it‘s like you wrap a Maserati with brown foil. You take away some magic of it‘s Avantgarde design.
I guess cellphone cases are useless too. Since they don't cover the screen. Would be like wrapping your Maserati including the windshields. No offense just don't agree.
