Just got my SP3000 and noticed that the date and time does not auto update.

Furthermore, when trying to set manually, the year cannot be adjusted beyond 2023.

Any ideas..?

Thanks.

If you have auto update set, it should update when you connect to a Wi-Fi source. It may take a bit of time to sync.

The manual year is a known issue and will be fixed in the next firmware update expected sometime in the next two weeks. I will share an exact date once it is finalized.

Thank you for the v prompt response Jason.

The WiFi has been connected for an hour and still no joy. Switch it off and back on again..?

I note the firmware update on manual adjustment fix.

Thanks

You can try turning off wifi and turning it on again. That should force the time sync.

It drives everything I have just fine and probably most IEMs available today (not sure about Storm) but it will have a hard time driving demanding headphones like planars etc. Read here.
I would recommend a portable amplifier with the Storm from the brief listen I had with it on the SP3000. The Storm is as hard to drive as some full sized headphones.

The SP3k will drive Utopia but the LCD-5 that I own required more.

A&K SP3000 vs Shanling M9+

Disclaimer: I only received the M9+ yesterday afternoon. I notice the signature is still changing, it hasn't had a burn-in yet. I won't go into details because that would really take too long. Impressions are pretty mixed so far, it is too early to make a safe decision.

By the way: now I understand why I couldn't like the Traillii: bright and dominant upper mids - yep, just like the SP3000, you've been paying attention! Too bad I don't have it anymore, I'm very sure that Traillii with the M9+ would have been a really good pairing! Still: Mentor tends to be sibillant with the SP3000 (again: upper mids/lower treble), but with the M9+ it sounds really good. The same applies to Anni. Yep, that's real: stronger AMP, the M9+ drives Anni better than SP3000.
Bright and dominant upper mids is not how I would describe Trialli. Knowing what Trialli sounds like, that profile suggests perhaps trying a tip size up (if you haven't done so already). Everybody's hearing and perception is different and I respect that.

Finally got around to reading the last few pages of this thread. Am seriously contemplating the sp3000. Agreed with much of what has been said having had a good few hours auditioning it today with various IEM's (XE6, Radon6, Trialli, Mest MK III and Storm (the last two with thanks to fellow head-fi members). The SP3000 a noticeable upgrade from the SP2000. More dynamic with a fuller sound. The 4.4mm output is of course appreciated. Heavier, larger unit. Holds its own against the Hugo2/2Go I was also listening to.

Hello everyone; this is my first post ever at such a forum, although I have read a few hundred pages to get myself familiar with lots of concepts.
I have been using SP3000 for 6 months now together with Hifiman HE1000 V3 at home and IE600 in the office, and absolutely enjoyed it. I have to say that it has been my first ever DAP and I didn't have anything to compare it to.

I tried this weekend my friend's Mojo 2, and have been absolutely slammed with the fact that I love the way it sounds much more than my SP3000. I have spent 10 hours comparing various tracks, and I simply hear a significantly larger soundstage, and the sound is more to my liking. I couldn't believe that HE1K V3 sounded SO MUCH better.
As I understood, Mojo 2 sounds slightly warmer, which is a probable explanation.

Now, I am basically facing a decision that I need your help with: should I reconfigure my SP3000 somehow using EQ to match it with Mojo 2; or should I just sell it and buy myself a Mojo and continue living a happy life enjoying the music?

Thanks!

My advice is that you should sell the sp3000 and buy a mojo2 , if the sound of the mojo for you is better you dont need a Dap of the level of a sp3000

I would agree. I’ve own the original Mojo and it’s a pretty spectacular device for what it is.
But you need to consider case use and functionality as well in arriving to a decision to sell the SP3000.
Before you make that decision consider them all otherwise you might have regret.
You can also consider buying the Mojo and using the 3000 as a transport.

You may think it’s funny I use it all the time that way. I also think it’s a better DAC than some of the more expensive products out there. Also it’s more flexible with the ability to use as a Roon end point. And lastly I’ve used AK DAP with the Mojo in my past find the threads amongst many many headfi.
