Is AK the only DAP manufacturer that has embraced Roon?
AK is the only DAP that is Roon certified.

I am expecting to have an update later this week regarding Roon Arc support. Will share once I have more info.

As a beta tester I have been using it since early summer. It has replaced Plexamp for me. It will be a game changer if AK approves it. It has been great that AK has embraced roon.
This right here is what keeps me intrigued with AK as I’m looking for a DAP that “does Roon right.” I’m a heavy user of Plexamp but I want to use Roon for both home and portable use if I can. The integrated data of all of my listening history would be great.

Hi all

I am thinking about getting one of these for sofa or bedtime listening when the Mrs wants to watch TV.
Can anyone advise what level of headphone would be a good match to get the best from this unit.

Many thanks

As the SP3K is a flagship player I think you’d get the best out of it with a TOTL headphone. It might be useful to ask yourself these questions: 😀

1) Do you want headphones or IEMs?
2) What is your budget?
3) What type of sound do you want? (i.e. warm/cold, bright/dark, bass heavy/light etc)

There’s probably more things you could ask, but I think those three will help to narrow it down.

Yeah I really feel like you would be wasting your money a bit if you didn't pick up a pair of flagship cans for the flagship player

I’ll be trying my current iems and HPs when mine arrives, but haven’t ruled out getting some new iems it’s about time anyway. The AK Odyssey are expensive but I’m willing to test them which could be dangerous. Did I read somewhere that they are only a limited edition? That might make it hard to get them or listen to them before ordering.

Odyssey is a 600 limited run apparently

Thanks, I thought I’d seen that somewhere. Probably not good odds of try before you buy then.

One review I read said the SP3K pairs well with CA Andromeda, I have those so hopefully I’ll be satisfied with that match up
