I find AK drop really useful and surprisingly fast. However, unless I am missing something, it only recognises the internal memory?
Thank you for your opinion. The former owner sold Tidal a month before the article I sent earlier. And it had a huge negative influence on the subscribers, they lost many. The Atmos choice is even more laughable. When you have an option for Qobus in your country, always choose this over Tidal. The differences in sound quality are clear.
Sorry, you are spreading false information. FLAC is a lossless compression and while you are streaming from Qobuz, you are again streaming lossless and it doesn't matter where it is stored.But.......it is still a compressed signal that is played from drives that are far away from you. When you play a song that you bought, the data is a lot larger compared to streaming the same song at the same bit rate. And again the difference is huge regarding better dynamics, more layering, and more resolution. It makes the music experience a lot more intense and emotional.
I would love to get your ‘objective’ view on some more future-facing music. From your description it seems like you refer to music in a very archaic way, all consisting of instruments and voices that ‘own’ a particular sound?I can and have proven to be able to create all aspects of sound in many audio systems. All our clients own an extremely holographic 3-dimensional stage and a very analog-sounding system. Including diversity in height. I learned during a live jazz concert that voices and instruments have their own height. When we play for example Miles Davis in DSD, he plays his trumpet about 30cm higher than the used AMT tweeter. This is what we call; 'diversity in height'. It makes the experience a lot more intense and emotional.
We modify many products. What we did regarding digital audio, is sharing a lot of information with different specialists. We can adapt the sound to create more layers. So you can reveal and perceive a lot more layers. The harmonics have the biggest influence on human emotions when we listen to music. I know this since 2018, and it made me adapt to all choices we make regarding the parts we use for modifications.
When you use and imply only products that can reveal all aspects of sound, the end result is in emotion always a lot better than any incomplete trail&error systems that lack one or more aspects of sound.
The biggest lie in audio is the fact that music is not subjective but objective. Because when you make a record, voices and instruments own their particular sound which you and I can not even change. They are also very direct and small, we call this intimate sound or intimate stage. Voices and instruments also own a delimitation in space. So it becomes clear that you need an audio system that can reveal as it has been. recorded.
The emotion that the music possesses, can be found in the recording. Each audio system that can reveal all aspects of sound, will be experienced and described as more emotional and intense compared to any incomplete audio system that lacks one or more aspects of sound.
When you would start to read about sound, you will find out that even each individual aspect/parameter of sound can independently influence our emotions when we listen to our beloved music.
Your statement just disregards the very adaptive nature of hearing. Your perception changes when your ears are tired, when the air pressure is different or when you have been hearing music with a particular character for a long time. Add on top the psycho acoustic effects. These will have much larger effect on perception than wherther it is 50 hours or 500 hours, or stopped playing for a while (which will have no measurable and audible difference). We advise putting off your audio system at the end of each day. And switch it on in the morning. You will hear a better dynamic range, more layers, and more resolution when you have put off all devices for about 5-6 days (try it).
Lol. I was wondering when this question would come upAny sound difference between silver and black version?
A small remote is included?@JasonNYC getting some annoying bugs today.
I was outside playing music from a specific album on my SD card.
For no reason at all playback stopped until I unplugged the headphone jack and then plugged it back in.
Shortly after, wanting to move to another album, I kept seeing the same list of 9 tracks listed again and again, even though I was looking at a couple of different albums. Pressing play indeed played the wrong tracks.
This was only fixed by rebooting the DAP- which reminded me how painfully slow this is.
Not entirely sure how none at A&K considered a 45 second boot up on a device marketed as having top class hardware for a DAP.
The slow boot up is all the more surprising considering the closed Android nature of the device.
EDIT: also, considering how much bigger the device is vs the SP2000, I bet I am not the only person to have appreciated a small remote in the box (especially considering the downgrade to 256GB)
No, reread what I wrote againA small remote is included?
No.A small remote is included?
Not when I am outside. Yes, AK Connect is an option but I don't want to waste my phone's battery.No.
But you can use your Ipad or smartphone to control the sp3 in roon readyness.
