Hi, excuse me. About details, soundstage, instrumental separation, imaging, and timbre, between sp1000 and se200 which is better in each thing?

Using for example only iems or low impedance headphones.

SE200

Same here. Also sp1000 output power is less than SE200 (thats why later they launched SP1000 amp module).
SE200 output power is the same as SP2000. some IEMs like my VE Elymium really need the power to drive to the ultimate SQ.

"Trumps every player before it, bar the SP2000"....

In my personal experience, the SP1000 and SP2000 both had a very balanced tuning with wide soundstage. The SP2000 was a bit more transparent than the SP1000 in that you could hear micro details a bit better, neither had bass or treble that was too much.

The AKM side on the SE200 sound like the SP2000 but just tiny bit forward on the lows I beleive. But it does sound quite nice and I'm really enjoying the player.

Then, se200 is more transparent than sp1000 but it has less technical capabilities vs sp1000? Is very difficult for me try to understad the conclusion of your coment bro. Could you explain me please? :)

It's hard to describe the sound, I would say that tuning of the Ultima Line of AK players differ from the SE200 sound because in the Ultima Line, the sound is somewhat balanced with wide soundstage, the AKM side of SE200, isn't balanced like the Ultima Line, it feels like the lows are pushed forward a bit and a little less on the mids but it has the same transparency of the SP1000 based on my experience.

So the AKM side of SE200 sounds like a slightly V shaped SP1000/SP2000.

The specs, for a couple of bucks (as in this case), don't always tell the whole story

Agree. My hd800 sound similar in bass impact and dynamisn by 3.5mm of sp1000 with only 2 volts vs dx220, little bear b4x and hiby r6pro with almost double or numbers 🤷‍♂️ hahaahaha. Buuut flamenco (with rapid frequency transitions) loose dynamic range in highs. (Not mentioned powerfull daps)

That is the reason why i am asking what your ears say... in astell and kern the numbers are just numbers. In an amp implementation, other things take more importance than a simple RMS messure. The impulse response to check control in gain and phase under heavy loads tell me more than rms output level. BUT a listen test tell even more than messures. Anyway, i am still waiting for more perceptions about the sound of se200 vs sp1000.

Did you read my post earlier?
Basically to my ears, the SE200 sounds like a slightly more v shaped SP1000.

Sorry, no, I did not. Now, after read both post, I can conclude that you say. Se200 akm side is v shaped sp1000. Thanks a lot of. Then, i think, ess is almost the sale but with other timbre.... thank you so much :)

Yeah, the ESS side is also interesting as the ESS is pretty balanced with a lower dB, I find that you can "dynamically" increase the sound dynamics bit raising the volume for a much fuller sound. Still if you want the more engaging sound signature, AKM chip is the way to go.

I confirm this impression. ESS side is perfect for iems with very high sensibility.

Overall you get different sound possibilities concerning the AKM side and ESS side along with the synergy with different IEMs and headphones which is quite nice!

I do wish we could customize the colors of the LED ring around the volume knob though.
