hi all, i want to buy ATH AD900, but im not have budget to buy Headamp,
is this AD900 working good / sound superior without headamp?
if AD900 without headamp is sound good than AD700+headamp?
im need help sharing from all. thx.

The AD900 sounds great even off a Sansa Clip. It's often described as the poor man's K701/DT880 because of that.

The drivers are very big, the impedence is low so they gain a good bit of power that is needed from an amp. A high end pc sound card will drive them well, but an amp like the Little Dot I+ is just ideal for them.

Yeah you don't need an amp per se, but given that little extra juice from something like a high end graphics card (such as the STX which has an on board amp) it makes them sing.

i want to plug this AD900 to my laptop HP DV6-3027tx.
can this AD900 sound well with my laptop without headamp?
i don't want to buying the headamp.
if i don't want to buy headamp, what is the best headset is compare to AD900?

They will be fine with your laptop, but if you add some power to them...even a Fiio e5 could be nice. 
Like mobbaddict said, they can be compared to the K701/DT880's.

What, even with Fiio E5 this AD900 can be compared with K701/DT880?
How big different SQ AD900 with and without fiio e5?
i see the fiio e5 is cheap enought where i have the budget for this item.

The Fiio doesn't improve anything with the AD900, don't bother

You'll be surprised with the SQ unamped.

They sound fine out of my iphone and improve a little but not significantly through my EF2 or uDAC so I wouldn't bother with something like the E5.

ok i got it. what is the best value headamp for AD900? any suggestion? that headamp must increase AD900 SQ.
 
how about iBasso D4 Mamba?

When you say headamp do you specifically mean a headphone amplifier?  Everybody has told you that it makes little difference so I think it is safe to say that you don't need one yet, not at least until you've heard them first and decided if they're okay.  If you really want to improve SQ, I'd focus on a source upgrade instead in which case the D4 would be fine.

I think you misunderstood that post... 

 
From what i understand, the Fiio gives a nice touch to the 900's but no needed...they work fine unamped. 
Not saying that it improves a lot, but you can hear a slight difference.

With the bass boost on yes... but the amp itself makes no difference.
