worth or not? depends on your credit card's limit.
If you asking is there any better alternatives? I will say there A LOT much better sounding alternatives either cheaper or same priced.

Pay with straight cash only. Getting into debt over headphones is bad.

why people buy Beats?
-because its expensive , you got some status in front of yer friend (buying ability)
-cool looking, eye catching to attract opposite sex
-you look like rapper or artist, without being true rapper or true artist
-comfort, no fatigue wearing for days! even without washing your hairs
-sound OK for modern genres (your ears think the SQ is awesome)
-you are on your sweet seventeen age

I listened to some Beats Studios and Solos the other day and I can honestly say my $35 Superlux HD681's are supreme. Even if Beats were priced better they would still probably be poor.

All Bass, nearly no highs or mids. It was like everything else was buried 6 feet under a layer of muddy bass

Can Beats beat US$23 monoprice 8323 sound quality ?

How muddy compared to Sony XtraBass XB500 & AKG K518LE?

It's all about personal taste. If you think Beats are the best, then you don't need to consider others' opinions. Just enjoy yourself my man.
However, I personally wouldn't buy Beats because I prefer something else =)

It depends on what you're looking for. I love the way they look and would almost pay the $200 just for that. But in the end the bass drowns out everything else (which some people love).

So if you care about only bass and style, the Beats Studios might be a good fit for you.
