The pads on the t400 tends to worn out after in a year or so; they become much thinner than brand new. The good thing is the the pleather seems to be intact. I replaced mine with the pads from the 940s. Very comfortable and also solves the heat issue i had with the pleather pads. Acoustic improvement, maybe some difference with the bass control, but that is purely subjective.

After using some cheapo sony headphones, these sound heavenly to my ears! Thanks for the great reviews everyone
