Anybody making a big headphone purchase this year?

So far in 2010 I've bought:

AKG K702 (sold because I have the 701)
HE-5LE (shipping this week, I hope)

Looking to get:

Beyer 880/600
Beyer DT48e (possibly)
AKG flagship (if it ever materializes)
Senn HD800 (maybe if the AKG flagship doesn't pan out)

Who know what else...?

Now eyeing more woody win-ness in the ESW9s

I've not been so impressed by the ESW9a... makes for a snazzy portable, but the sound quality brings the price in question.

I'm about to make my biggest purchase ever very soon.

I'm looking to get the VPI HRX turntable and the Eddie Current Transcription as my vinyl rig.

I couldn't help myself. I just ordered the DT880/600ohm.
That's IT for a long time.

My big purchase this year (B'day in Feb) was the Mapletree Audio amp. Maybe by Christmas my piggy bank will be full enough for a top pair of phones. Eying the Senn HD800's, but probably have to be something more like the Beyerdynamic T-1's. So yes, definitely planning to buy big, just not very soon (sigh).

I understand the feeling: this thread is devastating to our wallets. On the plus side, we'll both have new headphones.

But I'm not as confident as you on that last phrase. There is still, at least for me, the LCD-2 and T50p launches I will have to resist.

...

Unsuccesfully I might add.

I have the money and the desire, but my faith is weak... I was all set to order a pair of the Senn HD650's and a tube amp but the more I listen to the Fostex T50RP headphones I purchased last fall the more I am amazed by their clarity, detail and realistic reproduction of voices and sounds.

So even though jumping into tube amps and exotic headphones is tempting, I just wonder if they can easily beat such a great combination as the Fostex headphones with an e-mu 0404usb? At this point I might as well wait for a few reviews to come in on the new Beyer T1 portables coming out as well as the 2 new planar headphones from Audeze and Hifiman.

Having already plunged into the HD800 in Feb, it is time to give my portable rig some love. Can u say T50p?
