I thinking about moving back to open back headphones mainly because closed back makes my ears sweat and I miss the sound stage of open back headphones.  I have the Audio Technica ATH- A900X which I enjoy alot but I don't really like the loose wing design, I thought about the AD900X's i know it prolly silly, but I wanted headphones that needed to be amp, since I do have a NFB15.32 as a source. I was wondering which open back headphones have the simlar sound signature of the A900X's that I could switch to.  My price limit will be $200-300.  I don't want AKG K70# again as I had the K702 and I don't like it sound stage being too wide and its bass being low.  I not a bass head but i would like to still have bass where  a song calls for it.

If you tie the wings down towards the cups, and leave them that way over night, or a few nights, the wings should work better.
So get the ATH-AD900X

DT990, full bass & full treble, which slightly overshadows the mids, but the mids are clear.

Sennheiser HD600, or HD598 would do a good job for you. Had the A900x long ago, both of these Senns are an improvement in sound AND comfort.

MA900 or AD900x could be your best choice.. here is an excellent comparison from  a_recording..

btw ma900 also has a wide sound stage similar to K702.

Thx for the suggestions guys, but i also forgot to mention that I also use the headphones for creating music on my desktop. I been thinking about the DT880 premium 600ohm's, the last beyerdynamics headphone i had was the DT880 pro-250 which I got rid of because of the clamping force even tho it was loose,Tho I did love the headphone just as much as the A900X that I have now. Those MA900 look like they might break, even the receive states they not that durability. I was looking at the DT990 premiums but the Full treble scared me off because I have titinus in my left ear and usually too much highs bother's it. I prolly will end up with the AD900X or a DT880 premium 600ohm later on this year.

I was reading the review of the Fidelio X1 it seem like a ineresting headphone, til i saw that the earpads was glued on which turned me off. Because sooner or later the earpads will need to be replace, in turn which means you would have to superglue replacements on the headphones.
