I've been looking around at getting one of these two portable headphones and I simply can't decide which to get. From what I'm seeing the only differences between the two are aesthetics, comfort (I've mostly just seen people complaining about the PortaPros eating their hair) and the fact that the PX100s are more neutral while the PortaPro has a more "fun" sound. I don't know how a fun sound would work with something like ambient music, or other, slow genres.

I like the look of the PX100 more than the PortaPros, but I can only find them about $15-$20 more expensive than the Portas. The only place that I've found that has them for a lower price ($40 with shipping) has incredibly mixed reviews, while one of the cheaper options for the PortaPros is on a known reliable site.

Haven't tried the porta pros, but i'm happy with the px100s. I tend to think the px100 are a little warmer than neutral, but the highs are still quite crisp.

You also should note the PX100s have a second generation, PX100-II.  My only experience is with the first generation, both a black and white pair.  Very nice mids and highs, bass is there and a tad boomy depending on how the music is mastered.  I've never tried the Koss set so I can't speak for the "fun" sound.  It comes down to musical preference...instrumentals, jazz, movie score people will likely choose the PX100 and the rockers will choose the Koss.  Not always, but that's been my experience when reading reviews and having the PX100s.
