Another limited edition A900

The impressions are very much appreciated, thanks for taking the bullet. It certainly comes out to be an interesting can, but for that price it is off the contender list. Frankly in my book, Proline 750 is much better than A900 and is not much more expensive...

ESW9 is an interesting thought though, off to read the thread. Small can = good can, thats what I liked about Edition 9 (but their bass got to me in the end).

I had the Proline 750 for some weeks and ditched it

I also wrote the same things about the 750 in the ultrasone thread before it got stupid over there: The A900LTD i had was no real match for it. However things are different with the A900Ti.
The cost is the same for both here in germany afaik. In that case the A900Ti gets my vote.

Anyway the headphone gets more interesting with more listening, soundstage gets more "holographic" ala W5000 with some good recordings, very nice!
It also sounds open similar to the W5000.
I really dont want to get detailed since i dont own the LTD and the W5000 anymore, i would be just guessing and can only post basic impressions.

I think it sounds more like a less refined W5000 with more bass than an improved A900(LTD). I've never heard the W1000 but maybe it has more similarities with 900Ti than the W5000?

One wearing advice for optimum imaging and soundstage: Tilt the headphone very slightly backwards as shown on the L3000 website.

so i'm looking to pick up my first audioTs. how would you compare these to a900s, forget about the price. sound wise, are these superior? you mentioned that the a900ti's have less bass, so that is one thing that has me worried. also i have my eye on other cans so really i just want to own 1 audioT. with that in mind, would you say that the a900tis are a good representative of the AT sound signature.

also anyone can point me towards comparisons of A900/700 and k240.

About the graphs from that website... I dunno if any of you can read Japanese but I do. He specifically writes this above the graph on the page linked in that A900ti article:

【オレ頭によるいい加減な周波数特性グラフ】

Meaning basically "A half-assed graph of frequency characteristics coming from my head". So it seems he's not using any equipment but his own ears to subjectively produce these graphs. That's all.
