Shanling Q1: Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player

In the world of portable music players, it’s all about strict minimalist design on one side and opulent technical extravagancy on the other. And for past few years, Shanling Audio was setting some of these trends. Now it’s time to set a new one.

For our next player, we went back to unique look of 1950s. Back to smooth round edges, creamy pastel colors and distinct chrome-like parts. Creating something stylish, something playful, something cute. Creating Shanling Q1, modern portable Hi-Fi player with wide range of features and with stylish retro design.

Shanling Q1 is based on our 30 year of experience in high-end Hi-Fi audio design and manufacturing, while adding on top our more recent knowledge of system development and advanced Bluetooth functions. All in very portable, practical and affordable package.

Shanling Q1 will be firstly available through our Kickstarter campaign, later it will be released internationally by our network of distributors.

Shanling goes to Kickstarter

For the first time, our fans from all around the World will be able to get new Shanling player directly from us. Without any delay compared to Chinese market, without any need to wait for local seller to get them in stock. And with some pleasant discount on top.

Will this be new thing for all Shanling’s releases in the future? Not likely, we still rely fully on our great local distributors and we wouldn’t be where we are today without their support.

Just for Shanling Q1 player, due to its little bit unique nature, we decided to try something new with Kickstarter.

Really reminds me of a smart watch, If it's a touch screen I'd love to see some sort of wrist mounted accessory

Yes, it has touch screen. But due to its size and mainly weight, it's quite heavy for any wrist strap. We think even for arm strap it's too much.

Definitely would recommend to look into M0 if you want something that size.

You may prefer the M0. The Q1 is more AP80-sized.

For size comparison, here is how M0, Q1, and original M1 looks next to each other. For the reference, M1 size is nearly the same as AP80. More details in my full Q1 review.

I created quick size comparison chart based on each of actual dimansions.
Shanling Q1 seems just palm-sized player.

BRILLIANT thank you, I have the M2S and it's delightfully palm friendly! Non the less I appreciate the visual

Can the Q1 support external m3u playlists?

Current build of MTouch supports both m3u playlists in folder browsing and you can also import them into the system.

how much better is this than the R3 or CT10 which are about the same form factor with a little more capability with Qobuz and Tidal off line capability?
At $89 USD its definitely cheaper, and the M0 is known for its power to size capability.
