Android phones and USB DACs

I can confirm the HRT microstreamer is working on my Nexus 5 with CM 11 Build 23.12.2013 - but the volume control is not working at all - it is at max or off if I toggle the volume button. Is there a solution for this behaviour? (I'm planning to use spotify and google music - I don't find any volume controls there...)

UAPP (full paid version) working with Galaxy Note II (using Perseus Kernel, CleanROM Ace 4.9.0, Android 4.1.2).

Running it off of my ODAC/O2 separates and it sounds great. Really, really great. Thanks for the really hard work you've put in on this! Color me impressed.

anyone have any word on if the Galaxy S4 will play nicely with the FiiO E7? im going to get this cable:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DHN9CMO/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=OMXGCLWM3I9A&coliid=ILKF0IXM5JUEY
to pair the two, but if you know of another way to get digital from S4 to E7 in a simple and cheap package I'd appreciate it.

Do I have to install anything or do anything extraneous? I have the Neutron music player.

I would not bet on that cable, it is not an OTG one. The one and only reviewer has been missing the OTG (host) functionality as well.

do you have a cable to recommend?

Look for Fiio L15 cable.  My Fiio E17 works with Galaxy S3 (all players) and Nexus 7 2013 (using UAPP) using the L15 cable.
That's absolutely perfect! I just need to decide to risk it (my E7 as DAC on PC give no volume out the left channel), and get this, or just wait till I have enough for the E18.

Hello Newbee here and need help ( what else )

First of all you doing a great job!

I own a stock SGN2 ( GT-N7100, Germany, unbranded ).

As I wanted to listen to my music files via DAC I bought a HRT microstreamer ( thank you DanBa for your reports ).

With Android 4.1.2 the SGN2 works with HRT microstreamer ( using a USB OTG Hostcable ) as expected.

Last Week I have updated to Android 4.3 ( as I know now ... a big mistake! )

Now with Android 4.3 the music files "run through" when I play them ( regardless of the player; I use Poweramp but tried the Samsung Musik player too ) via USB Audio.

Using the headphone output all is fine.

So I have two options: buy a SGN3 ( stock ) or flash the phone with android 4.1.2 ... :frowning2:(

Any other suggestions? Does anybody else have this issue?  ( btw Buildnumer is N7100XXUEMK9 )

You can try this application:

It has the best SQ also.

I have found my device, got to know if it works with spotify though. the galaxy note 3, with the HRT microstreamer. Will it work with spotify??

Hey, I've just got my Note 3, and from what I have been reading across a lot of Forums, the Microstreamer will work with all sounds through a Note 3 (with both versions of the firmware) it seems. I too am thinking about pulling the trigger on one too, however I have just been A B ing between my PC - Arcam RPAC - TDK ie800's and my Note 3 - Fiio E6 - TDK's and I am having a hard time telling the difference, possibly a hair more space with the Rpac, but not £180's worth IMHO, it could be that the DAC in the Note 3 is more than up to the job, in which case, just source a small Amp of your choosing.

I am tempted to get a Fiio E07K instead, as my experiences in kit at these lower price points seems to be suggesting that they are much of a muchness. Any thoughts folks on your experiences with the Note 3 internal DAC? (I have UK edition)

hi all,

I just got one Theorem720 dac/amp but it doesn't work with my note2 (rooted xnote rom) I bought the Usb Audio Pro that is work (love the sound from it) but only with flacs and waves, but that thing is not a proper player.
I tried many thing but I'm failed :frowning2:
My phone worked before with the RSA Predator without any problem.
Interesting the Neutron or simple media player running without sounding but fast forward, jumping 10-20 second at once.

Any help highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

There is a new player from the same people out, called USB Audio Player Pro. It's a player instead of a recorder app, might help.

thanks, I just got working that :)
when I installed didn't worked, I just messed around and suddenly working now. at least I have a player :)
I'll waiting a little bit with the purchasing just in case.
The sound is just beautiful.
I never thought there is that more in my ie80, hd650 stunning as well. Sometimes I almost feel I have a multi speaker system on (or in) my ears. The instrument separation, depht got the biggest upgrade. Really precise, if I can say steril.

still not over the moon but there is smile on my face :)
