I don't know if you've already placed an order or if you're interested but I highly recommend the Mazda France 6V6GT'S from this vendor on EBAY. I've already purchased 3 pair and they've all been true NOS and have been tightly matched to within 2-3%. I think the quality for the price is a value. These are the exact 6V6GT'S I'm currently running in my Studio Six and can't speak highly enough about them. Very balanced top to bottom with a very precise tight bass. Full extension with a little warmth. A really fantastic tube in my book.

That's bcschmerker4® to you!
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation contracted with an unknown vendor for RFI shields for ECC-series miniature tubes such as the 12AT7A, 12AX7A, and 7025A in their musical-instrument amplifiers. The 6L6GC's were left unshielded excepting the circumferential anodes; the 6CA7's with their semiconical envelopes don't take external shielding very well on account of shape. Don't know whether shields for T-envelope octals such as the 6SN7 are available; but the 6V6GT's shouldn't need external shielding any more than the 6L6GC's previously mentioned. In fact, I was using it with Grado GS3000E, noise is in the absence of music, thanks for the useful information, there is a dust cover for the Alo Six ?

Those should be great. That's the ST shape also sometimes called the "coke bottle" shape. They pre-date the version I have. My guess is that yours are pre-1953 maybe even late 1940's. Let us know how you them as I'm personally interested in them.

NOS 6V6's will make a considerable difference in the sonic presentation of the amplifier.
The stock JJ 6V6 output tubes are reliable, and a good starting point.
Quality NOS 6V6 tubes, however, can make very substantial enhancements to the subjective results.
Do you know any IEMs that could work well with Studio Six?

The Studio-Six is designed with the driving of over-the-ear and on-the-ear headphones exclusively.Do you know any IEMs that could work well with Studio Six?
We recommend against using *any* IEM's with the Studio-Six.
The Studio-Six is an optimized circuit, which can drive headphones from 6-Ohms to 600-Ohms with very low distortion at generous output power.
IEM's are best paired with lower-power, more portable amplifiers, which is an approach also more congruent with the portability concept of IEM's in general.
I was thinking about the hot season, you know the headphones ... what if the IEM had an average impedance (60 ohm) and efficiency (94 db) could it work? The Studio-Six is designed with the driving of over-the-ear and on-the-ear headphones exclusively.

ALO does universally recommend *against* using IEM's with the Studio-Six.I was thinking about the hot season, you know the headphones ... what if the IEM had an average impedance (60 ohm) and efficiency (94 db) could it work?
The Studio-Six is really too powerful for *any* IEM's, and otherwise not compatible with IEM's for a number of other reasons.
Hearing damage and/or other personal injury could potentially result from attempting IEM use with a Studio-Six.
I strongly suggest perhaps using a high-quality lower-power amplifier which has been specifically designed for IEM use.
I hope you can continue to enjoy your Studio-Six to it's fullest, despite it's limitation of being a headphone-only amplifier unit.

Like the RE2000? Yes, they can be used because of their high impedance. Been a while since I've tried them though.I was thinking about the hot season, you know the headphones ... what if the IEM had an average impedance (60 ohm) and efficiency (94 db) could it work?
Thank you very much. I added this dwarf for the IEMALO does universally recommend *against* using IEM's with the Studio-Six.
