The Akg K812 is now listed for sale on a Swedish store. Exact same price as the HD 800. It doesn't say if they actually have them in stock or if it's a pre-order. Either way it seems it's getting closer to release now.

I bet you there will be plenty of versions of the K 812 once the initial milking is over.
 
On the other hand, what's going on with Tyll and his review of these?

^ I've been thinking the same. I cannot wait to see this headphones measurements and review. Need to decide HD800 or not.

He likely doesn't want to release any further speculation fodder until he has done a completely thorough and fair review.
