I currently have the ATH-ES7's and have been pretty pleased although saw the AKG's and was curious how do the compare and for what types of music? Thanks, Joe.

Spooky ... I currently have the K518DJ's and was looking at getting a pair of ES7s! My main issue with the 518's is that they are bloody uncomfortable as the headband presses down hard on the top of your bonce (a known issue) and I can't wear them for prolonged periods. Wanna swap!?

Haha! You should swap! Except for the ES7 being much more expensive than the K518...
I own the ES7 and I bought K518LE to my wife. Overall I prefer the ES7 because of the great mids which work very well with guitar driven music. The mids on K518 are a bit more recessed and the soundstage is slightly more narrow. I think they both have about the same amount of detail.
