There is not a decent thread on this topic on Head-fi. Let's make it good!

I just bought a pair of rarely used K271 MKI on Amazon Marketplace. It comes with everything except the extra cord and the extra pads (Not sure if the MKI came with these). It has the mute switch that turns it off when taken off the head, just like the MKII. Are there any sonic differences between the two? What kind are the stock pads that come with the MKI? He said he bought them 30 days after they were released in the US. Will these most likely be Austrian made!?

Thanks,

There are no difference in sound quality regarding the headphones only but the pleather pads make a bit nicer sound and add a bit more isolation when compared to the ones made of velours. The old K271 should come with the pleather pads. The MKII has velours and pleather pads.
