Same here. No bass. Wasn't really impressed.
I HAVE been comparing these k167 to the m100 and m80 I also have on hand....
I have to say these have the best quality bass I have herd yet.
The quality I like about the bass is after I broke them in took only a day and it has WEIGHT without being overdone like the others. Clean large perfect non muddy bass wich totally does not interfere with the rest of the music.
But that is only the bass.
And the other two headphones excell in the mids.
The highs are also stellar alot of presence and details.
I have just ordered the k67 as I need more portability and these barely make it for every day commute so I may sell or just keep depending how the k67 sounds as I will miss this sound.
The problem for me is the mids are presented slightly laid back yet only noticeable when compared to the m100 & m80...
These mids remind me of sony v6 & my ath esw9 in terms of laid back,
But much more clear which makes overall presentation polished and enjoyable at mid to high levels.
At low levels not as involving but I am running un amped thru a Galaxy Note 2 phone.
Personally I think the m80 are most balanced yet slightly forward for me.
I love bass but not bSs head but heavy and large and detailed and real like these.
IMO, M-100 or PSB M4U2 is the best on the market for portable use without a separate amp. However, in fairness, I have not yet heard the K167.
One last question before I order these puppies, are the K67 better than the K167 for portable use? And how do they compare to the K518 and the new K618? Whoops that was 2 questions heh.
