YES!  Finally I have a headphone that can play these metal+traditonal songs properly.  With the PRO700Mk2 it was just a mess.  Everything was smashed together.  On the SRH940 and SRH440, it's way too bright.  The TMA-1 Studios were close to being good for their forward drums, but the vocals were recessed and veiled.  There are so many instruments in these songs and the K167 is able to separate them to make it really enjoyable to listen to.  I'm now hearing more percussion instruments than before

How would you compare the bass of the K167 to the Pro700Mk2, is it significantly less or able to hold its own?

I would say it's more than the PRO700Mk2.  The K167 has that deep low rumble that the Mk2 doesn't have.

However I'm one of those people that think the PRO700MK2 aren't "two subwoofers on a headband".  I think they aren't that bassy.  I think the PRO700MK2 bass quantity is slightly less than the DT770 if you've heard that.

Now if I want to compare the K167 vs DT770, I'd have to hear the DT770 again.  The K167 is slightly dark (especially when compared to my SRH940), and I remember the DT770 having recessed mids.  Depends on how you like your music.

If K267 will dissappoint I will pick up a pair of these and then run it through a digiZoid ZO2.1 for my basshead needs. It really sounds like an excellent headphone for the price and a closed headphone with appearently pretty good isolation too which is a welcomed feature for me due to having somewhat loud computer fans and I keep mastering hardstyle tracks quite a lot these days so outside noise isolation is always welcome.
 
Any1 seen any FR response graphs of these yet, would love to see it.

I'm in love with them too PFULMTL (if I'm allowed to say so), this tight/deeeep bass and all this detail... I start thinking I won't need the K267s, but let's wait for first impressions/reviews.

Third party sellers on Amazon are quickly running out of these. If the K167 has more bass quantity than a D2000, and a little less than a DT770pro80, that's fine with me. I'm looking for any reason to stop waiting for the 267.

I don't think they have more bass quantity than a D2000, but better quality. It's tighter and deeper and more controled. BTW, I don't know D2000, but D5000 which have the same drivers (so I think I can talk by D2000).

How is the clamping force compared to K550? I listened to K550 recently, and it was too big and would literally slide off my head. Im planning on preordering k267, but it has not come out yet,so i figure i would ask here cuz i assume that k167 and k267 would have the same clamping force.

The K550 doesn't have the grippy headband pads like the K167 that go all the way down the sides above the ear (seen in the pic below).  These provide the grip you need to headbang or headbob.  It also helps that they are really light with no discomfort.  I'm shaking my head right now, and it's not going anywhere.
 
There is no gap above the ears on the K167 compared to the K550, so that's why it's snug on your head and those side pads make them stay glued to your head.  I'll take a pic later.

D5000 looks to have a little more bass. From what i've read so far, the K167 should have a good amount of bass without overdoing it--like this K618

The hype machine strikes!  I snagged a pair of these brand new on ebay, will be comparing to the other cans I have in my possession right now, but hoping to wittle down to one set...hopefully these can be the all-rounders I am looking for......

Be careful about ebay. So many fakes of everything there. Hope you get the real deal though..
 
Seems like branding headphones is what companies do a lot now. Dre was first, now Tiesto, although this doesn't seem like garbage. I like Tiesto's music.

Oh, were you one of the people I recommended the K618 to?  If so /highfive
You know what I mean then when I say the K167 is a notch less on the bass compared to the K618.  The K618 just has too much that it starts to sound boomy.  If you are listening to just bass music it's fine, but when you switch to rock or metal, the bass becomes too much. So the K618 is not really versatile, unless you can't afford a higher end headphone, then just stick with it.
 
I guess I could mention that I got my Fiio E7 working.  I thought it malfunctioned when I dropped it and only one side of audio worked.  However, I dropped it a few more times and it works again.  Not sure if that's a smart or stupid idea ahaha.
Using the bass boost on the E7 now.  Just like with my previous headphones, I don't like the way this handles bass boost as it dulls the highs.  The K167 is already slightly dark, so adding bass boost just makes it even darker and it starts to sound like a Sony XB series, just boomy bass, little treble.  It sounds decent at Bass Boost 1 though, but I'm not going to keep using them like that.
Right now the E7 is just an overpriced cable coupler as I don't notice a difference from my onboard ALC898 audio chipset.  I use the E7 at around a volume settng of 25-30 by the way.

How much were they?  Have anything to compare them to?

I got them on ebay for 180 with free shipping, not a bad deal.  Currently in my stable I have:  Shure srh840, beyer dt770, senn hd25, maudio q40, ultrasone hfi-780, and denon d2k's.....Can you tell I just found this site?  I am going to be running them through an E11.  Will try to post some impressions once I receive them.....
