AD700 Microphone mod

I'm planning to get the AD700 and for ease would love to do microphone mod. The problem is after researching several mods around here and else where, the picture to do not fully show how to wire the microphone input properly. Also, i'm not entirely sure what parts I would need to make this work.
 
If anyone could provide any information I would be really grateful.

You can also get a labtec boom mic.

You just velcro it to the side of the AD700 and put some superglue on the ball bearing so it doesn't move as easily, so you can adjust by only one of its two joints-- the more rigid joint.
 
Admittedly it's not as clean, but it's easier.  It's what I did with mine:

It's more about the trouble of giving them a coat of paint. And keep in mind that some people might like the stock color patterns.
