Just brought them to a local meet; the fellas tried all my ciems, had good things to say about them, but when it came to the Encores they were stunned. Some had seen this thread too and compared to what everyone else has been hearing, most figure it's best I send them back.

Anyway contacted Adam and AJ again and let's see what's up.

Hi jelt. How do you compared Legend r vs encore?

Hi jelt. How do you compared Legend r vs encore?

I'm sending back my Encore, so won't be right to comment on them at this time...

I'm wondering whether it's a case of yours being defective or that they simply aren't as good as other CIEMs in their price bracket. I'm thinking about buying the Legend R as well so I'll be interested in your comparison between the two once you get your issues with ACS ironed out. I'm pretty sure I'm not hearing the same earphones as yourself and doctorjazz.

Sure too, I have had the H8pro and already own the EM32 and the Encore are on the ToTL as well as the EM32.

I've brought them (and my other ciems) to two meets now, and suffice to say that the reactions were not "hmm this is not my cup of tea", but a lot less subtle. More than one person told me I should send them back. So yes, I'm pretty sure we're not listening to the same iem...

I want to replace my triple fi 10 with the encore ciem. Are they similar in sound signature?

I wouldn't say so,the fi 10 had quite a prominent treble from what i remember, Encore is a much more refined and subtle story(read:better:)
Mids are also far superior, bass on the triple fi was fun and deep, but again no match for Encore in either depth, quantity or quality.

I am sorry to hear some are experiencing issues with Encore,
if for any reason sound is not superb in all respects, it def means a fit issue or other manufacturers problem, send them back for a new one.

I've got the box and the label, have to print up the return form and fill it out and get it out (working ridiculous hours, working today, got home last night, ate and fell asleep, should manage over the weekend).
Think my issues may be fit, but we'll see what happens when I get them back. Right now, my FAD Heaven V, Dunu Titan 1, and Zero Audio Duoza, to pick 3 at random, sound better.

They do give my wife something to make fun of, though :D

Thanks for your reply.

Does the quality from Encore dependent on the source?

My source is iPhone 6 and will remain so until iPhone 7 in the future

What's the difference between the Encore Studio & Encore Live?

Whilst it upscales beautifully with better sources Encore is not too demanding and sounds awsome from my iphone 6, so no worries there, tho if you gonna go for a totl ciem like these you might as well get at least an X3,X5 or better, it won't set you that much and it's worth it.
The Live version has the old cable Acs do for stage use, def go for Studio with its cool Linum cable and more audiophile, bassy and fun but very balanced and refined sound sig, i never get tired of listening to these.
Tho i use the new Adel A12 a lot too i can never choose one or the other, Absolutely Superb choices for an iem!!!

Thanks.

I'm not planning on buying any new source at the moment or in the future as I only listen to music on my way to work in London (train & Buses) and back around 2 & half hours total. I have no time for a relax listening, so will stick will iPhone 6 & Spotify.

With this in mind, which one do you recommend Encore Studio or Adel A12?

When I first encored the Encore (HaHa) at the NY office, I forgot my Pono and listened to (the universal) Encore from my HTC One M8, using TIDAL, sounded great! Should sound better with better source (and with better fit, hopefully, when I return my ciem version).

Go for the encores if you prefer a more analogue sound with natural soundstage (a bit warm), and for the adels if you like it a bit brighter more punchier and open. Both are excellent choices, but just considering the price difference I would have a difficulty justifying the adels....

I'll go for the ACS Encore Studio. Thanks all for your help (Soundblast75, doctorjazz & GuyDeBord)

I need to justify in my head for spending £750 for a iem. After that, I'll take the leap
