There is no balanced output 
Why would there be static when streaming? puzzled at this comment? Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify all stream perfectly on my M2 and always have
We are releasing a cheaper DAP the M20 in June, not as good but amazing for the dollars / check M20 Thread

The new Onkyo DP-X1 causes static/distortion especially at low volumes using third party apps like tidal. The analog class A amp and the better quality streaming makes this dap seem like a good alternative

The GUI overhaul will be towards the end of the year, no date fixed as yet.
There is a lot of other software work going on at the moment.
But don't worry, it will happen and all you're feedback is being taken into account.
Will let you know when we know more.

I also bought a leather case along with my m2.

The size is acceptable, UI nothing unusual to me.
Absolutely loving the sound, I tried it on IEM se-846,I could not hear the hiss sound. But after trying with headphone ATH- es-w11, i was like wowwwwww! It took the headphone to another level.

Just become a little warm when i use Tidal.
