Acoustic Research AR-H1 Planar Impressions and Discussion thread

I've been using it for about a week and so far am really enjoying it. Has anyone else tried it yet?

It's my only planar so I can't do any comparisons until I take it to a local store for some A/B.

I can tell you it's got a punchy, well controlled bass. Signature is balanced and resolving. Highs are not smoothed over so if there's inherent sibilance in a track you'll hear it but it's non fatiguing.

It's great for psytrance. The bass is actually fairly similar to the DT990 but not as pronounced because the 990 has a very V-shaped signature while the H1 is more balanced. There's certainly enough punch there though.

Anyone able to find the earpad dimensions? They look like larger Oppos which I always passed over due to the small size.

The inner dimensions are roughly 8x5 cm
