Abyss Diana IMPRESSIONS Thread.

No problem.
The feel of the Phi version is that of a lighter clamping force compared to the original Diana, in part due to the circumference of the pad being larger than the headphone itself and the inside being carved out to clear the ear yet maintain a slim look on the head.

Hi guys,

Today I had chance to try Abyss Diana for 1 hour, there are 2 kinds of cable that the shop provided to me which is 4.4mm balance and 3.5mm

My concern is, my sony WM1Z at high gain mode when drove this headphone (by 4.4mm or 3.5mm) can only produce sound on 1 side (with very low volume). On the other hand, If I use iPhone with Red AudioQuest Dac-AMP, it is audible on 2 sides. My Wm1z drives MDR-Z1R, LCD-2 and other headphones as normal.

My question is, can Abyss Diana Phi or Abyss Diana PHI be driven by WM1Z at all? Is it because of any technical problem on the demo I try? (I doubt that since the shop provided me the desktop amp, Bakoon AMP and the abyss Diana sang beautifully).

We have a Sony WM1Z and it works great with Diana Phi. It sounds as if you had a connectivity issue, could be the plug was not fully inserted at the headphone end. I'll PM you to go over the set-up.

Pierre from Casques Headphones in France made a wonderful video comparing Diana and Diana Phi on the Eleven XIAUDIO Audio Formula S amp.
Will need to brush up on your French smily_abyss1.gif

Yes I drove my Diana from Sony WM1A via 4.4mm balanced and it could drive Diana just fine

Will there be an upgrade to the phi version available for Diana owners, same as for the 1266 ? Is the headband different (a bit larger) ? Having a narrow head I need to use some extra band on the headband to get a comfortable fit, so I'm wondering...Thanks for the answer !

I'm surprised that this thread isn't more active. I think the main concern with these is definitely the price.
What isn’t these days. Course top end market is top end but take a good server/upsampler, dac/amp/ and hp never mind cables or a mid size vehicle, your choice.

These are my dreams headphones. But due to the price, they will probably remain a dream. :)
