I like my Philips SHE3800 better than the Edifier H180 (but I do like the Edifier). It has always been known that the SHE3800 has nothing to do with the same Philips company that makes lightbulbs and other things. The thing is, now you can end up accidentally buying fakes of the original "real" SHE3800. Sadly one of my two SHE3800s died during a recable attempt. The drivers are glued to the front covers so extreme care must be taken when opening them. Because of that, new drivers were put in along with the new cable... but now it is no longer a SHE3800. It is nice though.

Yeah, I have the fake SHE3800. Anecdotally they seem more common now.

Both of mine are/were real but even when I bought them a couple of years ago they were becoming rare. I you do get them cheap enough though, as you can see from my photo, they have nice shells for DIY builds.

The SHE3800 that you bought is not a real Philips product. It's fake and not even in the same league as the the Edifier H180 (same shell): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32790311335.html which is my favorite budget earbud.

I feel a bit dumb ATM :D. I did some reading here on the forums and came to the conclusion that i have the real stuff.

you can see that the drivers on fake ones looks totally difrent. They really sound amazing IMO and i am not easy to impress. I have few chi-fi craps and few "hype" models that really sound like crap, but these sound really good.
If a fake ones can sound so good il take it :D.
I am not talking abouth cable and packaging because the samsung akg that i odered have no flaws. You cant see that they are fakes untill you hear it or you open them and check drivers.
You have some links with the real stuff?

I don't know whether it was ever really established whether or not it was genuine Philips product, I got mine a few years back from Fasttech and they sound good, not listened to them for a long time though. Hey if you're happy with them enjoy, if they sound good it doesn't matter

The SHE3800 I got from AE was atrocious and a driver started rattling after minutes of use. Yet, others swear by them. "Fake" or not, there are clearly multiple different variants of the 3800 floating around, and it's practically impossible to tell which one you're ordering.

I really don't know what actually happened and are they fake or "fake" but after i got these i didn't listen anything else. Freq response, separation, soundstage, everything overall is so nice and balanced that i can't listen to anything else atm :D.
I bought boom pro mic instead of a desktop one and now i regret because i would try to game with these.

Its me :D. Again.

After i got hooked on earbuds and "Philips" SHE3800 i saw that Yuriv made some posts abouth MH410c and i wanted to try them because his review on MH755 was on the point. I wasn't so surprised with MH410c :frowning2:.
After listening them for few min i just stopped. Lack of bass creates some feeling like the driver is struggling to produce a "real sound" which results in such distortion and makes this earbud sound like crap. Sound just sucks :frowning2:.
The microphone capsule on the other hand is pretty decent and could be used in some DIY headsets or similar.
