Cankin, I am sorry to say that I have not received any reply. Wonder if their spam blocker is set up incorrectly. ???

If you used posted here email, chances for them to get it are very slim as my email returned back with undeliverable/unknown user error.
Try online form on their web site under Contact us. I sent my inquiry yesterday, still nothing but it's a weekend, I'll post here if I hear anything back.

Below is the response I received.

Hi Miguel,

I am sorry to tell you that we at this time do not have any dealers In the
USA.
We are currently selling our products in Scandinavia`s biggest chain of
electronic stores, and they are selling as much as the factory manages to
produce.

Early next year we will open a second production line here in Norway, and
the plan is to start exporting within 6 months.

There should not be any problems with purchasing directly from us.
The only problem is that it will not be any V6.0 ready for retail before
January 2009.
Estimated price is 540 USD.

Please feel free to contact me in January if this is still of interest for
you.

Best Regards
Thomas Abrahamsen

. . .

Wow, thanks a lot. Hope it's worth the wait.
Why it's priced so low, Electrocompaniet ECD1 DAC is $2000, is it really comparable quality or just similar looking chassis?
Decisions, decisions.

Wow that DAC looks really nice. But well, maybe I shouldn't judge by the looks

That would be interesting since ECD1 seems to have a great reputation.

From another thread:

ECD-1 is a nice DAC, but there are certainly many legitimate alternatives in that $2000 price range. Depending on your tastes, there may even be legimate alternatives to ECD-1 in the <$1000 range.

ECD-1 has a very airy, grainless, "fresh" presentation with great soundstaging, so if that's what you like, go for it.

People who are more into deep, bold tone with tons of texture and more "earthy" presentation, may prefer some of the other non-upsampling type of DAC's.

I love my ECD1 as well!
For the reasons already mentioned in this thread. Great sound stage and dynamics, "airy" presentation, ...

looking forward to the first reviews

Hopefully shipping won't be too horrendous.

Shipping should not be that bad.
The V6 weighs 5kg, plus packaging. So lets say 7kg. As a CarryOn Cash parcel (insurance included) it will be USD 45 (NOK 310) to Europe, and (USD 100) NOK 730 to the rest of the world.

Hard to say!
Guess we will have to wait for the first review. Either by someone around here taking one for the team, or by other means.

The V6.0 will be for sale at earliest i January 2009, It will cost 2995 nok, or about 425 dollar. I dont know how to get it in the US, but I guess you can order from Abrahamsen. The reason they didn`t answer your mails is that it has been sickness. I had a request for V1.0, upgraded version and they took some time to respond. But now I think they are back again.

I can be convinced into doing so, if we can arrange a buyer for resale. Cause I don't intend to keep it...
The closest store (Elkjøp) where it will be available is just 7-8km from here, on my daily travel route to work and back.

No need to keep it

I am currently trying to get my hands on a Paradisea+ but it does not look too good, so I might just wait and grab that unit from you.

So make sure your review sounds really good

I just checked and can't believe the price is correct. CD-P is around 10000 NOK, the amp too etc. and the DAC only 4000 NOK? OTOH, Cambridge did the same...

Doesn't Elkjøp have a 30 days return policy? At least they used to do if I remember correctly. Could be a nice way to check it out.
