Abrahamsen V6 DAC

It is very interesting to see as the offer of USB DAC is consistently growing, and that recent launches are targeted at a much lower level than what we are used to, especially considering their balanced topology (like Dacmagic, Little Dot DAC1)... Maybe we should bless the financial crisis for that

This DAC looks very promising. Can't wait to read impressions and would also like to see picture of the internals.

I'm overwhelmed with this DACs price TAG!!

As soon as they are available I will purchase one.... that's for sure!

I'm a big fan of electrocompaniet products.

I own a EC4.5 pre-amp and I've owned a AW-100 power amp.

I'm now considering on buying a pair of AW-180!

I've owned krell, Conrad-Johnson, YBA and Electrocompaniet has that special sound that I enjoy so much.

I've read many good things regarding Abrahamsen's products, and it seems that they don't sell there products at ridiculous prices like other brands. That's a Huge plus.

As soon as you guys have news regarding this dacs availability please warn me.

I live in Portugal, so if there's any Norwegian that would be kind enough to buy me one I would most obliged.

Hope seeing reviews regarding this dac soon.

Cheers,

Tiff

Hi, new in this forum. I`m going to get my V6 dac on thursday or friday 19-20 of february. Abrahamsen has finished 40-50 pices of this dac, but has still no box for it. So local picup is possible. The 100 first of these are pre ordered, and will cost 3000 norwegin kroner.

So the dac is soon avalible.

Seems like they're having trouble keeping up with demand. Rave user reviews, claiming that in some cases it might even surpass electrocompaniets offering at about a third of the price has caused orders to skyrocket.

No wonder!
Cause if its anything, sound wise, like the Electrocompaniet ECD1 at 1/3 the price, then its a real bargain.

Lilac1, do you have any links to those user reviews? I would love to read them, but my searching has been fruitless.

I talked to a guy today who sold his Electrocompaniet ECD1 when he got his Abrahamsen V6 because it sounded better. He thought it sounded better "on all parts, at half the price" If this is true then it's a real bargain.

This product sounds promising. Are there any reviews available yet?

There are a user written review on a norwegian hifi site, i could link you to it if you want to use Google translate or something. But if i remember right it wasn't very detailed and didn't compare to many other dacs.

Sorry, but it's all in scandinavian. The lucky few who've got theirs already, have twisted them out out of Thomas Abrahamsens arms themselves.

(meaning, only local pickup is as of now possible)

I'm scandinavian myself so that's no problem:-)
I see the Abrahamsen online store is now up and running, unfortunately for most people here, they only deliver in Norway.
