It looks like they added the USB input but removed the XLR outputs. They also have a few more buttons on the front. I can't make out what they are for. Different volume knob and power switch.

Hi guys,

FYI, I have 5 of these units left for sale. You can save considerably on shipping purchasing from our store in Canada.

D-7.2x cost $313 USD
E2.03e $434 USD

Hey, has anyone tried this new DAC out? I wonder how the USB input sounds compared to spdif. If it sounds just as good, i'm going for it.

Be the first one on your block to have your DAC come home in a box. Notice image 0273, I recently saw the same component (labeled Hi-Fi Audio System) ,square block in a picture of a high-end DAC, it had one for each channel. I wonder what it is?

I don't think there's gonna be two of them in this one though. That's what we can tell from the first two pictures. I don't remember seing it inside the DA7.2x either. Maybe it's something to do with the USB? Was the high-end DAC you saw it in a usb dac?

EDIT: Hum, seems like its right behind the volume knob and beside the opamp (i think). Maybe it has something to do with the headphone-out / variable-out.

I emailed Eddie asking how he finds the USB in of the DA2.03e and this is what he wrote:

Hi!
I did compare with cd -transport ---digital cable to DAC
USB input to dac with smae song and hardly
notice the diffenence.
I check with string, high head ,Volien and customer comes to my store
can not tell sound from computer.
I am using desk top only.
The advantge of E2.03e is it can be usampling both Cd-input spdif and
Spdif from USB .
Wu.

Sounds promissing. I think i have golden ears so if mister Wu says he can't tell the difference then it's all good in my book. Of course, i can't wait to hear it with my own ears.

I asked mister Wu about the differences between those two units. Here's the reply:

Hi!
Sound is the same and only different at ;
1---USB input can be --but no XLR output
2---One more occilator for inpudif as USB,Real DVD player --which with
48.1khz input.
You better wait if you doesn't

I'll recieve mine sometime next week though. But since i don't have the DA7.3x, i can't compare.

ZOMG! Member pompon in this thread asserts that even his soundcard out sounds better than the DA7.3x! We're all screwed!

Well looked at specs about that soundcard and atleast "on paper" it sounds impressive

So who knows with good opamp it might well be or not.

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I got a Citypulse 7.2 largely based on recs from this forum. I've enjoyed it tremendously, but, alas, it seems to have died!

I've emailed Wu, but I was wondering if anyone here has any ideas.

The problem is I'm not getting any audio on any of the outputs (fixed rca, variable rca, headphone) when either of the digital inputs is selected. If I select the Aux analog input, I get music (on everything but the fixed rca output -- is this normal?).

It used to be that when a digital signal would come on feeding one of the DACs inputs, I'd hear a click, presumably a relay or something engaging. I don't get this now. Just silence.

It's not my source -- I'm having this problem with multiple sources.

Ideas? Thanks!
