Alien Gold if you prefer analog sounds, and if you don't need screen. Cayin N3 if you prefer more technical sounds, and you must DAC and BT. Alien Gold a little better SQ than N3. Shanling M1 is worst.

the M1 got superb connectivity :L3000:
If you are using easily-powered iems it would be a good pick and if your iems are more power hungry then you may need a stronger output

I'm interested in buying a Gold version, but I have one question: does the Alien play 24/96 FLAC files?

I am planning on getting one from Penon Audio and the features it lists suggest that 24/96 works with both WAV and FLAC files, but I read elsewhere FLAC is limited to 16/44.1.

Who needs Alien+ when you got the Gold strapped to a JDS Labs C421-AD8620? Bring on those power hungry phones! It seriously is the only amp I've tried that doesn't alter the Alien's beautiful sound.

Might be in the market for gold if anyone’s selling. Mine is long gone. Hit me up! I could use an SD card as well. Located in continental US.

I have an Alien Gold that I purchased new quite a while ago and never actually used at all if you want. I think I bought it for $200? You can have it for $100 if that sounds fair?
