That’s a never-ending discussion. I work in a profession that recognizes WAV as the preferred format, so that’s what I use normally. I also like to RIP to WAV so I have an uncompressed file to bounce to FLAC if needed. AIFF is Apple’s uncompressed format and supports tagging, but I rarely use it.Is there an advantage of the WAV file compared to FLAC or alac etc.?

WAV is uncompressed while FLAC and ALAC are 'losslessly' compressed. People claim there is no significant difference between the former and latters in therms of sound quality. You can go forf WAV if storage is not a problem

You like it? I'm really not a fan of that pairing, I feel it becomes... too much. I'm curious about the Sony XBA-N3 though...

I do. My music preference is Leonard Cohen, Counting Crows, Pixies etc. and I like the full bodied, analog presentation. I play with Impedance setting depending on song to increase/decrease the higher frequencies and clarity. I can’t get over the abyss background. You like it? I like full bodied music as well, that's why I love the Calyx M. My problem with that combo is that the B03 is a set that is already a bit bloated in terms of low end and the Calyx M just brings that flaw into the spotlight even more.
Enjoying Duran Duran Pop Trash while I type...love it!

Here's a great synergy . These Sonorous X are some great headphones and scale wonderfully depending on the source quality. The M really makes them shine and this is definitely a great test track. But of course it does not have *any* online capability nor the crucial ability to play DSD ISO files. Does anyone know of a similar-sounding modern DAP that has a 2.5 balanced output as well?
Anybody have or heard an ibasso DX220 for comparison?
