60 hour toothache nightmare!

Pinkie, no dentist in his right mind would do a full mouth extraction simply because a patient desires it. That's open grounds for a lawsuit.

I'm sure there are oral surgeons in the UK, well, they got to be right? In anycase, it sure sounds like the retained roots are creating problems for the tissues in the area (not forming a clot and creating an infection).

Oh, and about the "cracking noise", that's normal during an extractions

It's just that the sound is much louder from your side of the chair

Lawsuit my ARSE. It's my mouth, I live in the UK and if I want my effin teeth pulled I'll make sure they're pulled......... Keep the lawsuit CRAP your side of the pond until I get my teeth pulled

plenty of people over in the USA get their **** enlarged and (from some of the e-mails I receive) they also do a good job extending penis......... why should a dentist in the UK be frightened to remove all my teeth at my request??

In case if I weren't clear, it's the lawsuit from the same patient who had requested the full mouth extractions.

And this reminds me of a story when my brother was going through school in Philly and a young lady had requested a full mouth extraction of perfectly good teeth but won't say why. It all became clear to him when her flamboyantly dressed escort asked my brother why he would not do the procedure.

Sorry it's no different to you asking for a penis extension........ you get a few inches stitched on and you then sue the plastic surgeon for what? genital mutilation?

I want every last tooth removed from my mouth....... I'll sign a disclaimer to that effect before they're removed.

that is because the human head acts like a big echo chamber....some humans more than others having more "hollow" space inside........

Agreed, it's frivilous and stupid, but it does happen often enough. In anycase, there are also moral and ethical concerns involved. But we'll not get into that.

Just remember, once they're removed, they're gone for good. There's no turning back. Dentures aren't as comfortable as you think. Imagine having something foreign in your mouth all the time. Then, there's also issues concerning bone resorptions and soft tissue traumas due to dentures.

I'm quite aware of this... but then my earlier line wouldn't have been as funny if I had added the reasoning behind it.

Makes a mental note not to ever join rickcr42 for a few drinks at the local pub/bar/club.

Pinkie, the only person I have ever heard of with worse dental stories than you is Billy. I'm surprised he doesn't have anything to say about this!

Hope you are feeling better very soon, and please, get a second opinion on that tooth. If you have an infection in the bone, you will have to get the bone curetted in order to prevent spread, and possible involvement of the neighboring teeth. Take those antibiotics and see an oral surgeon soon. Btw, don't they have emergency rooms where you live? That would constitute an emergency afaic, and would deserve more immediate treatment.

PS. Remind me never to have a dental emergency in St. Andrews! Your dentists sound like brutes who were torturers in a former life.
