Pinkie, no dentist in his right mind would do a full mouth extraction simply because a patient desires it. That's open grounds for a lawsuit.
I'm sure there are oral surgeons in the UK, well, they got to be right? In anycase, it sure sounds like the retained roots are creating problems for the tissues in the area (not forming a clot and creating an infection).
Oh, and about the "cracking noise", that's normal during an extractions
