Also, you can upgrade later by getting the new k712 pads, which supposedly are the same as the annie pads.

Thank you all for those advices.

I made an [edit] to my questions : If I removed my tape deck, I could find the space for a tuve/valve headphones amp ; my budget could climb up to 400 euros --> new questions...

I that case, would a tube headphone amp be better paired with the K701 than the recommanded solid state amps ? If yes, wich models (in my budget span) would you recommand ?
I saw a second hand Little Dot MarkIII on a french forum. What would you think about that combination ? Wouldn't it be overkill for a K701 ? Would it be better than O2 ?

I think That SS are usualy better with K70X , for  411€ you could get the Lake People G103-S + K701 . (at Thomann.de)

If I have understand this right, you can just get the 702s original pads...this way you'll have them both types of sound.

I don't have any K702 now ... ANV was returned .

After reading a lot, I begin do doubt between K701 and HD650.
I will try to compare them in a store (unfortunatly, the K701 can't be found anymore, it will be Q701 vs HD650).
I'll also try the Micromega Myzik headphones amplifier (solid state)...

I have both the 650, the K701 and Q701.  For classical music with a decent amp, the K or Q701 is MUCH better than the 650.  The 650 does not reveal the individual notes and instruments any where close to what you will get with either 701.  The difference between the K and Q701 is not significant...I'd get whichever was less expensive and use the extra money for a better amp.  Solid State Amp is fine.  The O2 would make a good starter amp.  Both the 650 but especially the 701's benefit from better amps.  The 650's are more musical and would be better for rock but for any music where you want to hear each note, they can't compete and actually make the music sound dead compared to the 701.

Best off luck to you!

In my experience I found the solid state amps to fit better in term of sound resolution. The V-100 can fit if you're looking for a warmer SS amp. Unfortunately I didn't had the chance to check out the G-100/103.

Thank you for all these advices.
The Micromega Myzic being a new release, I'm affraid no one could compare it with the Lake People G103-S (I only red one review, in french, in which the Micromega is rated better than the Lake People G100).
The V100 is far above my budget.

What about V90? It shouden't be much of a diference I guess and is 200 euro cheaper. I own the V100 for just a couple of days now, but I like it a lot.

BTW, as I am weak

, I just ordered the Q701, so in a couple of days I can tell you the difference between the HD650 and Q701 first hand

Best price for V90 is 400 euros... above my budget (G103-s only 190 euros).

i could try both the HD650 and Q701, pared with the Micromega Myzic. To my ears, the Sennheise HD650 seemed darker, with less details and soundstage, but with more bass than the Q701. The Myzic is nice, but I don't know if the bass rendering would be better with Q701 + Lake People GS-103S ou Matrix M-Stage (in my budget, but couldn't try them) ?

My final choice : Q701 + Micromega Myzik headphone amp + Monster 350i cable (and it ended by becoming a 470 € budget...).
I'm burning in the Q701, and will get the Myzik next week.

Thanks to all whose advices helped me to choose :)
