I think he knows how to put them on. What he meant is after donuts are in place, they easily slide out as you put it in your ear by friction.

This happened to me often as well and I just swapped them out with full covers.

I know that he does, he said the foams are hard to put on, so I've written the way that always works out for me, considering he's not the only one that said so in the past few pages.
And the donuts aren't working out for me either, they have a perfect fit naked in my ear, got no need for anything on them :p.

Source is this group on fb.

About cables you can find more details on DIY cables thread, I bought mine cables, wires and connectors on http://www.lunashops.com/ but you'll find more expensive wires and connectors like Oyaide, Neutrik...etc in some local stores or ebay too.

I have received my three Monks! In this moment, my eyes are wide shut.
I can't believe this is possibile. The openness of this earbuds it isn't earthly made!
The bass are prominent, but it isn't the only thing, female vocals, instrumental separation and something truly special.
I can hear a slight echo/reverb, or a surround effect, I don't know how this is possible, but I'm in love with it.

Buy these, for you, for your family, for your children, for your wife, for your friends and - at least but not less important - for your dog.

When I put the foams around the buds, pushing them in my ears was like watching a river flowing in front of me with an incredible force.
I'm still shocked, now I will stay near my PC - with a Xonar DG - burning them.

These are over any earbuds I've listened, and - with a different signature sound - can compete - thinking what an earbud is - with my Superlux HD-668B.
The Superlux are more analitical - less than many studio headphones -, these are probably more fun.

Hey guys,

I like the foam sound but the included foam is just a touch too thick. Anyone know of good quality thinner foams?

I bought 50 of them on ebay for like 0.99$, they're fine, and quite thin (very thin, actually) and they fit the monk perfectly (+ you get quite a bit of spare ones if you lose them :>!)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/50Pcs-Black-Soft-16mm-Replacement-Ear-Pad-Bud-Foam-Earbud-Cover-For-Earphones-/151646240125?hash=item234ed1fd7d:g:mZAAAOSwrklVKLO8

EDIT: tested naked and with these thin foams, and it's a bit more boomy, spacious with them, they sortof open up with them on, I'll keep on using them this way!

I'm thinking of buying a few pairs of these, a few for myself (in case they break or get lost, since they're just $5) and one pair for my grandfather. He listens mostly to classical music and some rock, do you guys think these are a good fit for those genres?

Without any problem! If you wanna spend this amount of cash, less dollars than two coffee and a Brioche, go for them.
I will buy back them, for some friends, soon.
Read my previous message, mate.

lol, that's what attracts me the most to these phones! $5 seems like a hell of a deal for great sounding buds. I just want them to be an upgrade over the Apple earbuds, and I bet he'll really appreciate the gift.

also, you have great taste in music

  Lorspeaker,

I am crazy for liking the Monks better than my Yamaha MT-220?

Lol - just kidding. The Monks do have a gorgeous signature...
